Recognize the diverse ways of viewing an event.

Understand that various points of view define history, communication.

Demonstrate various points of view in representing the same event, issue, or story.

Narrative

Gain familiarity with standard way stories are organized, with narrative and structure for each medium.

Tell story or develop thesis within various media, making product effective through use of the medium's communicative parameters.

Discourse

Recognize and become self-aware of discourse communities, voice in narrative. Become familiar with the language of media analysis, critique, and evaluation.

Show home and peer discourse community, creativity. Recognize other communities, including "standard," code switch. Develop productions which demonstrate student voice, as well as capacity for critical evaluation.

Diversity

Understand the influence of language and culture on beliefs, values, and identity -- also, the relation of economic and social identity

Produce story or thesis in different media that take a position on diversity and social change.
